How much does LVP flooring cost per room in Brunswick County?

It's the first question almost everyone asks, and the honest answer is: it depends on the room. But "it depends" isn't useful when you're trying to budget, so here's a real breakdown of what goes into an LVP (luxury vinyl plank) flooring price on the Brunswick County coast, and the ballpark numbers we see.

The rough range

For a standard bedroom or living room — call it 200 to 300 square feet — most homeowners in the Shallotte area spend somewhere between $1,000 and $2,500 to have LVP supplied and installed. A whole-house project brings the per-square-foot cost down but the total up. A small bathroom or laundry room might be $500–$900.

That's a wide range on purpose. Four things move the number.

1. The plank you pick

LVP is sold in tiers. Builder-grade planks with a thin wear layer are the cheapest and are fine for a low-traffic guest room. Mid-tier planks with a thicker wear layer, better texture, and an attached pad are what we put in most homes. Premium rigid-core planks (SPC) with a 20-mil-plus wear layer cost more but shrug off dents, pets, and rental traffic. The material alone can swing from about $2 to $5+ per square foot.

This is the wildcard. LVP needs a flat, sound, dry surface. If your slab has dips, we skim-coat it. If a plywood subfloor squeaks or flexes, we screw it down or replace sections. 3. Tear-out and furniture

Removing the old floor is a line item. Carpet and pad come up fast. Glued-down vinyl, ceramic tile, or multiple old layers take real labor and dumpster space. Moving furniture is usually included for normal rooms; a packed bonus room or a piano is a conversation.

4. The trim details

Transitions between rooms, quarter-round or new baseboard, stair nosing, and thresholds at exterior doors all add up on a bigger job. They're small individually but they're the difference between a floor that looks installed and one that looks finished.
